Felicia McDaneld, of Tacoma, WA, has been crowned 2011 American Beauties Plus Woman Queen. She competed with women from all over the United States for the title of Miss American Beauties Plus Elite in April 2011. “This is just amazing!” McDaneld said. The American Beauties Plus Pageant system is unlike any other pageant concept. It celebrates the full-figured woman of the United States and promotes their inner beauty, character development, leadership, on-going education, broad intellectual interests, artistic talents, healthy lifestyles, social minded, civic involvement and cultural awareness.

As 2011 American Beauties Plus Woman Queen, McDaneld will have the opportunity to further promote her platform: Healthy at every size. “Healthy is more than a number on a scale. I want everyone to know they can live a healthy life,” she said.

McDaneld has a B.A. in Communications from Piedmont College. She has been a ticket agent with Alaska Airlines in Seattle for 6 years. “I have a lot of coworkers who have had lap band surgery. I don’t think that’s the answer. I hope during in my reign I can help women to love and honor the body they have and not hate themselves for what they aren’t.”

To learn more about our unique system, view the recent pageant highlights, or to apply to become a delegate or a sponsor, please visit our Facebook page American Beauties Plus pageant.
